Depart London and start your journey to the first destination, Cambridge situated on the River Cam - abundant with charming architecture. A much quieter version of its rival (or ‘The Other Place as Oxford is known here), with leafy green gardens on the colleges outskirts and weaving river banks by the colleges’ fields or “The Backs” where students and tourists float on punts.
The city houses one of the most prestigious universities in the world - where Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, CS Lewis - between others – attended its various colleges.
Continue towards the main town centre, passing by the famous Eagle pub, the Chronophage (Corpus Clock), Senate House and Kings College - ending our walking tour near Trinity College.
Join the guide on an optional Punting tour on the River Cam passing under its beautiful bridges.
Continue to Oxford - the City of Dreaming Spires, which revolves around its university. Founded during the 12th century, mottled by historical honey-coloured buildings yet still has a young vibe thanks to its student population.
Many renowned figures studied here such as Bill Clinton, JRR Tolkien - writer of the Lord of the Rings and famous actors such as Hugh Grant.
During your free time, you can visit Christ Church, one of the largest colleges in Oxford and home to the smallest cathedral in the UK. See the famous hall, which inspired the Great Hall in Hogwarts the Harry Potter world and the grand staircase featured in two Harry Potter films. Lastly, enjoy free time in the Covered Market.
Your tour ends in Hammersmith station, London at around 19:30hrs
